Bridle-making Weekend

Parts of a bridle

Your chance to make your own bridle under the supervision of a Master Saddler and Bridlemaker. We call it a weekend but experience shows that its quite a tall order for just the 2 days so the course has been extended to include Friday afternoon. We meet Friday lunchtime and work from 2 - 5pm then then all day Saturday and Sunday 9 - 5pm

Its an unusual opportunity to learn these traditional skills, to hand craft your own bridle with the finest materials available then experience the joy of riding with it. To ride with your own hand crafted leatherwork is quite a feeling.

All tools and materials will be provided. We use oak bark tanned bridle butt from the Bakers tannery in East Devon - the finest available.

To ensure personal attention we limit the group size to 5 participants

You must have attended the Basic Skills course and feel confident hand stitching with 2 needles.

Cost

£225 tuition plus materials approx £50
