THE CLASSIC JOURNAL

THE RUSTIC JOURNAL

Tanner Bates Journals

Re-fillable, A5 hand-sewn pages in a luxurious leather binding

The Tanner Bates Journal has been created by two traditional skilled craftsmen. The pages are hand-sewn on a wooden frame, and the leather is cut by hand from the hide using traditional hand tools.

The paper is hand sewn not only because it’s a time honoured bookbinding tradition but also because of the subtle luxury of pages, which lie effortlessly flat wherever you choose to open the book.

Each refill contains 96 pages of  off-white 100% re-cycled acid-free paper that you can write on with a fountain pen without bleed through. 192 sides for your writings and sketches to file away when full.
We have pasted a white write on spine in case you want to date or reference each volume.

The leather for the binding is cut from a hide that has been manufactured in a traditional, family run tannery in Florence, Italy where they still use organic tree barks and plant extracts to transform animal skin to leather.

The binding, like all good quality leather products, will become more beautiful as you complete and file away each volume.

Refills are readily available from your stockist or direct from Tanner Bates.
