Team Tanner Bates:
Rick
After a decade of living and working in London for Smythson of Bond Street, Rick moved to Devon, joining Team TB in 2020.
When not busy working away at Tanner Bates, Rick is often found adventuring and wild swimming around Devon with his partner and their dogs, Mannie & Reef.
Matt
Matt attended one of John’s Leather School courses, and has since been hooked. Joining Team TB in 2019, Matt soon became an invaluable member of the team. From managing the workshop to making and photography to technology, there isn’t anything Matt can’t do!
When not busy at Tanner Bates, Matt and his family enjoy walks, wild swims and paddle boarding with Billy his Border Collie.
Matthew
Matthew has been working with leather for more than 7 years. His love for leatherwork started as a hobby, but his skills and passion soon led him to start and run his very own business for many years. Completely self-taught, he is an incredibly talented and experienced maker. As with anything that Matthew does, he is a perfectionist.
Away from the workshop, Matthew can usually be found hiking and wild camping with Otis, or cooking up a storm in the kitchen!
