The texture and feel of well-used and loved leather is achieved over time. Natural leather starts of a little stiff.

The Baja bag I purchased from a few weeks ago is wonderful, I carry it pretty much anywhere I go.
It has received several admiring comments already and I am sure there will be many more to come! My bag is still very firm but I intend to use and care for it as I do my English made shoes, and look forward to it developing the kind of patina shown in your photo.
There is a photo of my (customised ) bag on Instagram (sartorial quest) which you can use if you wish.
Once again thankyou for preserving traditional skills and for my beautiful bag.

Waxed cotton is dressed with wax in order to make it shower-proof and weather resistant. This means that it cannot be cleaned like some other non-waxed fabrics. Do not use a washing machine or dry cleaners. Over time and with use, this wax dressing will need reapplying.
